I was the mom who had the theme locked in within an hour. I spent three weeks curating a tropical tablescape. What I didn’t have was a system.
Thirty-one people showed up instead of twenty-five. The food ran out. I spent the whole afternoon running between the kitchen and the food table, and I barely saw my own party.
I sat on the edge of the pool after the last guest left and made myself a promise: never again without a system.
I spent the next year building it. Testing it. Using every party as a laboratory.
